About
We started this cataloging project in September, 2010, with the simple idea that we would sort out my great-grandfather's collection of drawings and photos, organize his daunting pile of loose images, and put like things together. Now every piece has its own ID number, a place in a group and a sequence, and we have a way to document whatever we know and can learn about each image.
The cataloging effort also sparked a quest to learn more about G. Carson Baker's professional life, as well as that of his father Charles Baker, who also worked for Cunningham and likely secured Carson's first job there. After much digging in US Census records, Rochester City Directories and various other resources, we not only found more information about Carson and Charles, we also found a whole additional generation of people in our family before them we had never known about, some of who also worked for Cunningham in the mid- to late-19th century.
Our Catalog is a collection of Cunningham images, and a history of our family's ties to the company.
